Still I Will Follow
Sequel to Though None Go With Me, the short story I wrote two years ago. However, it was written in a way that you don't have to read the first story to understand this one.
Story is told in the perspective of GLENDA.

Notes: I have been working on this for about two months. It's been a journey, and still I am not satisfied with this final draft. But I still feel like I should post this. I am asking that if you comment, to please, please give your most honest feedback. It may hurt, but it will build. I need advice on grammar, content, and mainly how to write more powerful short stories. I've put my heart and my soul into this story, and I have prayed and prayed on how to write this, because some parts were just - so - hard.
O, Scotland, what hast thou done with thy noble sons?
And with thy daughters, for they, too, are gone from thee.
Thy gibbet has robbed thee of thy worthiest ones,
That loved ye, labored, aye, toiled for your good.
Ye have sent them to the grave with your wicked guns.
{Lately martyrdom has been on my mind. Stay tuned on my blog to find out why. But then I caught a stomach bug and was quite miserable. The next day I listened to a sermon by Eric Ludy called "Extraordinary Courage" ... which really stepped on my toes. My thoughts, Mr. Ludy's, and some of Richard Baxter's are included in this prayer}
‘Tis so easy to romanticize
The notion of martyrdom.
The longing inside with the prayer
"Thy kingdom come.”
‘Tis so noble to want to die
For His glorious name,
Yet when the pain comes
Rest in peace, little one
Rest in peace
Your troubles are over, little one
Rest in peace
You looked death in the face
Little one
And did not flinch
Pain
Oh, the pain you endured
All because of your love,
Little one
Be not afraid
They talk of justice, little one
They talk of peace
But who, little one, noticed
When you suffered?
Pray, little one
You are safe now
