{this is the second-to-last installment of "Leviticus." The final one is a poem... to come... sometime. It's written now but we've been really busy lately with Irish dance and orchestra and hospitality and school}

5. Rest

Leviticus 23-27. 2 Corinthians 6:14-7:1.

Part One: The Merchant of Israel

Quiet Place

Here I am-

in my quiet place

resting, dreaming, thinking, singing,

discovering me.

Resting here-

in my quiet place

clearing away needless worries,

becoming free.

Dreaming here-

in my quiet place

filling my mind with fantasy,

the me I'd like to be.

Thinking here-

in my quiet place

thinking thoughts never before thought,

original to me.

Singing here-

in my quiet place

soaring above to mundane of life,

Sleep On It

Days like these can come and go
Quickly and briefly and you won’t hear me complain
Even when the sun is shining
On the outside, in my mind it’s a pouring rain
Too many worries and future duties
Merely focusing on a single one is proving to be hard
When I think to tackle one task
I find my brain is lead and my intellect has been barred
I think I would like to forget
For just a minute, everything still to be done
And put my mind in a dry place
Where the breeze is gentle and there’s no need to run
