If Only We Could See

The streetlights block the stars in the sky
Mankind unaware beneath it lie
We proceed onward with our monotonous lives
Telling ourselves that we're always right
We live our days without fearing the force
It has come to the point, that life is no longer sacred
But is now only a choice
Lost and confused
People hurry on their way
never stopping to think, what if God came today?
Pride has become truth
Forgiveness a meaningless word
If only we could see
What we have become

Alone

You hide behind a facade of indifference
Your face is shadowed, though not by darkness
You lay beneath your blanket of lies
A shield to protect you from Truth's cunning edge
You belittled everyone you have ever known
And you wonder why you now dwell alone
You are deemed nothing more then a pariah in this unfeeling generation
Life does not leave room for alteration
You have chosen your fate
And in it you must lie
It is now that you realize, you're not even alive
