Alone

You hide behind a facade of indifference
Your face is shadowed, though not by darkness
You lay beneath your blanket of lies
A shield to protect you from Truth's cunning edge
You belittled everyone you have ever known
And you wonder why you now dwell alone
You are deemed nothing more then a pariah in this unfeeling generation
Life does not leave room for alteration
You have chosen your fate
And in it you must lie
It is now that you realize, you're not even alive

I just wanted to say that it's great you're writing a book. I'm writing one too- it's alot farther along now than I ever thought it would get- so I know how it feels to just want to throw it out when the editing gets tough and you don't feel like you'll ever get anywhere with characters or chapters or plots. One thing that's really good is to have one of you're friends be your "editor"- in a loose sense of the word. For instance, I have a good friend of mine who also loves to write look over my chapters as I finish them and point things out before I post them. She'll comment about this here, or notify me about this there. It's really helpful.
And one more thing- The book might seem hopeless now, but it really isn't. I left SOL alone for a year because I coudln't think of anything, and now it's got 18 chapters. :D
