Open The Eyes of my Heart

Submitted by Maddie J-3 on Thu, 02/21/2008 - 21:05

All these questions,
And worries,
Fill up my mind.

All these feelings,
Of loneliness,
Ache in my heart.

Lord, please take it away,
Take the pain,
From my life
Take the worries,
From my sight.

Lord, open the eyes,
Of my heart,
Let me see you.

And Lord,
Clear out my heart,
Let me love only you.

I called on you,
With a painful heart,
And you came to me,
With open arms.

My True Inspiration

Submitted by Nathanael on Thu, 02/21/2008 - 06:32
Sitting ‘neath the window;
I sip my pungent tea,
As I think and ponder,
Of all the things
That inspire me.

Like the birds of the air,
Or the fish of the sea,
The mountains, and rivers.
A small creature,
Such as a bee.

So as I contemplate
Over all that I see,
I must acknowledge that
All creation
Comes back to Thee!

For You, O Elohim,
Made all creation be!
So now I understand.
It is You, Lord,
Who inspires me!

The Color Blue

I wonder about the color blue. It's all around us in amazingly different, yet the same, shades of blue. It's in the sky, in the flowers, and even in our eyes! It's in the clothes we wear, and in the water we drink. So you know what I think, I like the color blue.

"With His Shield or On It" Chapter One: A Dream

“What is troubling you my friend?” asked Golwitch, staring into the firelight which beamed on his face.
“I am not sure I know,” said Menegal. “But for certain, out of all misunderstanding, there is something that is going to happen to us all, which is grievous.”
Golwitch looked into his friend’s eyes and wondered what this answer might mean. The road had been tiresome on the way to Thermopylae, and the time of sleep was not fair. Was all this weighing down upon Menegal?

Sometimes

Submitted by Bernadette on Wed, 02/20/2008 - 02:32

Sometimes I just want to cry
Sometimes I just want to shout
Oh Lord rain down your mercy
Upon this earth that is dry
Oh Lord rain down your mercy
Pour down the rain of mercy
Let your mercy flood the earth
Let the waves of grace come upon the shore
Let the clouds of the heavens cover the sky
Let the raindrops of love pour down on the wilting grass

Hero

Sure, I can be big
I can be strong
I can even be smart

I risk my life in strange countries
I die in fires
I save lives
I also put criminals behind bars

But I am also unknown
I make a little girl with no hair smile
I wipe the tear of a small boy
I make a baby giggle
I change a family’s life

What if?

(A bit of explanation:
Here are some musings of mine. It started with a "If I could take a bite of the sun, what would it taste like" and went on a rampage from there. Now obviously no one can bite the sun, and supposing they did they would burn their tongues (to say the least). But what does the sun look like it tastes like?
And that’s where this came in.)
