Warm light in night's grasp....

Submitted by Elizabeth on Mon, 03/08/2010 - 02:09

The golden light burns, glows, smolders                            The doorstep of night…. flutters, ripples, flees, amongst                             Dark shadow’s shade…. The branches receive, uphold, bear                              The eve of springtime…. hover, reach, display, before                               Airy palate blue…. The bitter breeze sweeps, twirls, heralds                               The icy morn’s dew…. flies, soars, brushes, the land with                               Cape of numbing cold……..

Rainbow; an acronym

Rainbow

(An acronym)

Rain is falling to the ground,

Anywhere and everywhere I see water dripping down.

I look up and search the sky of clouds.

Now I see a place where sun beams fall through,

Brilliant shades of red, orange, yellow, green, and the rest,

One after the first flowing in a breathtaking arch of colors,

Wonderful and glorious is God’s great creation,

Outside My Window

Submitted by Ariel on Tue, 02/10/2009 - 02:23

The rain drizzles down the window pane in front of my face; my breath makes a faint fog on the cold glass. Across the field is Mingus Mountain, normally a dark blue silhouette against the sky, now a rolling bank of misty grey clouds and falling rain. Another rivulet of water trickles past my eye, and I glance up at the sky.

World Slept?

Submitted by Bernadette on Tue, 10/28/2008 - 02:01

Many have slept, but not all
Many have awakened, but not all
The world never sleeps?
Not all

As the sun rises, it sets
As the sun sets, it rises
As the moon rises, it sets
As the moon sets, it rises

So tell me, dear, does the world sleep?
Does it rest, so not a thing is awake?
But you have said: the sun always rises
Always sets

The world is always awake
The world is always asleep
How can that be?
It can be
Because the world is a ball

Wash Away

Submitted by Hannah W. on Fri, 10/10/2008 - 02:19

Rain
drops of silver,
crystalline tears,
wash away
sorrows and fears
Rain, rain,
don't go away,
keep me company,
cleanse my weary soul,
with drops of silver,
crystalline tears,
wash away sorrows and fears,
Rain, rain,
you blow away,
the sun comes out
on a whole new day
