It's Not Goodbye

Submitted by Wings of Eternity on Fri, 07/10/2020 - 02:44

I'm fine now,
don't you cry.
I'll see you soon,
it's not goodbye.

Remember I'm
always in light,
when you miss me
in the dead of night.

Remember how
much fun we shared.
Remember how
much that we cared.

In our love,
we'll never part.
You'll always have me
in your heart.

Don't you worry,
I'm in God's love,
here in heaven
up above.

I'm fine now,
don't you cry.
I'll see you soon,
it's not goodbye.

Christmas: Hope

Submitted by Grace J. on Sun, 12/22/2019 - 21:38

“Does your family have any plans for Christmas?”

“Well, this year my parents are taking my brother and sister and me to visit our grandparents in Florida.”

“Ooo, Florida!”

“Yeah, no fear of getting snowed in out there! How about you guys? Any plans or traditions you’re looking forward to?”

“My family always goes to look at Christmas lights on Christmas Eve and then we decorate cookies together.”

“Aww, sweet!”

“Yeah, it’s my favorite tradition.”

“How about you?”

“Nothing special this year. Just enjoying time with my family.”

All the Unburnt Candles

Submitted by JimWaters on Tue, 03/26/2019 - 16:12

A dragon trapped me in the walls
Of fortress worlds away
My hope: one day a knight would come,
Bring me from dark to day

I took a candle, every night
And with a falt’ring tread
I set its tiny flame upon
The sill close by my bed

One day, I said, someone will see
My silent, wretched cry
My plea to search within my walls
To grab my hand and fly

But unlike that which Psyche saw
My candle showed no face
Just blackness, not a star above,
A plane of empty space

Reaching for the Sun

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Fri, 10/05/2018 - 19:15

Twice were my love and my honor both spurned
And again, thrice my heart and soul did yearn
But my thoughts and God’s are not at all one
But twain. I reach my hands up for the sun
While solemn moon is offered in its place
And stars glorify the tears on my face
And while I wait for daylight to reach down
I radiate from within. I drown
The thought that I may never know of love
And I look again; I look up above
At the stars and the moon; I see their space
And in between moments I find the grace

Darkness, You Despair

He thought it was the right answer
And so took his own life
His arm breathed an apology
For being dead inside

His friends take time to mourn for him
His family weeps with pain
Yet Alex our own broken loss
Should not have been your gain

The dominoes come crashing down
As air is filled with threats
Kids unstable, and razors sharp
Affect forgets regret

One death first, and then another
Your self inflicted loss
You curse your friend and your mother
Refuse to share your cross

Revenge - Chapter 1

As the glowing sun set behind Knight Manor. Isabella Knight a beautiful 21-year-old girl was finishing the last few touches on a surprise birthday party for her mom and uncle her mom’s twin brother. Bella scribbled on a piece of paper the last couple of items she needed to grab from the store.
‘Cake, candles, and balloons.’ thought Bella as she ran out the door to her black truck and rushed to the store. As Bella picked up the last few things on her list her phone rang.
“Hello” “Bella honey, it’s dad is everything ready for your mom and uncle?”

My True Love-To-Come

Submitted by SURPRISINGPERSON on Tue, 11/14/2017 - 21:43

I have seen you
Upon the hillsides,
Hair blowing in the wind.
Seen your shadow
Pass by my window,
Colored silver-grey.

I have seen you
Brushing the winter
Snow marks all away,
Crystal breezes
Bringing the springtime,
Never a day the same.

The love of my heart
Will belong to you always.
The love of my life,
You always shall be.
I lean on my Father
To help me to wait for you,

Till the day
When you'll be
Here with me.

Riddle

Submitted by Libby on Sat, 10/21/2017 - 16:41

Where hurt abounds, it raises up,
It lifts the hearts of men on earth
Bringing purpose, crushes gloom
Arresting spirit at its birth

It promises a brand-new start
A melancholy heart it cheers;
When waiting in anxiety
It gets the better of our fears.

Where life exists it will be found,
If even just a hint of it;
And where ‘tis found, it cautions us
The slightest fear not to permit.

God Used A Shawl

Waiting.

I was nervous. I didn’t know what to expect. Would they be nice? Would they speak English? What would they think of me? What would they think of our family?

My family and I were waiting near the last baggage claim, waiting for a long time, waiting for our Japanese relatives. Grandma Notsu would be there; Uncle Hiroo and Aunt Katsuko would accompany her. They were probably on the plane now…or off it, figuring out where to go.
