Voices in the Crowd

I.
I know it's my sixth -
this small chocolate cookie -
don’t judge me.
I've a wild notion that
whatever makes me happy
ought to be right.
Yes, it's my eleventh -
don't stop me.

II.
Happiness is
one more sip
of that bitter red liquid
that burns my throat -
don't judge me.
So sweet, settling well,
I raise my voice and yell
in a quandary -
Give it back!
don't stop me.

Vignettes from Galatia

I. Self-Control
The window let light
Fall onto the hospital bed
And the sleeping patient stirred.
* * *
She felt nothing.
She heard nothing.
Only then, seconds later, she felt a drip
And saw in two clear streams
Crimson liquid oozing down her ankle.

Then the rattle
And the realization
As a diamond shaped skull slid away
Dragging its slender scaled chain behind it.

Every ounce of her
Wanted to scream
But the venom was already spreading.
Suddenly, her veins' pulse slowed.

The Path

The Scars of the Past
The Scars of the Future
The Scars of the Present
They overlap and intertwine
Forming a winding path
Shall I follow it?
Or let is fade away….
A forgotten dream

Hope

A SHIP GLIDED OVER THE CRYSTALED WATER, awaiting its passengers. As it was tied to a pier at a wharf, there stood a man. He watched the water lap at the boat, making the ship look larger than life itself. To the rest of them, the ship looked like the most beautiful sailing vessel that anyone could see. But to the man, it was just a ship.

Chapter Six

CAD SLEPT AROUND THE BURNING FIRE with the other men that night before leaving the next day early in the morning. He was aroused by Julius kicking a live coal at his hand, giving it a slight burn. He only reduced his screams by rushing over to the cooking quarters and dousing the left over porridge all over his hand from the day before. When he returned the men stared at him in shock. Cad finally looked over at his appearance and realized that he looked like a bear caught with honey.

Chapter Five

CAD EYED THE MAN THAT LAY ON THE GROUND. His hair was reddish blonde, his face bruised from the fall and a small cut on the side of his right cheek. His ax lay several yards away, lying in the muddied banks of the creek.

The man pushed Cad forward, making his knees land in mud. Cad turned his head slightly to the left and saw his kidnapper grabbed the other man by his hand and brought him to his feet.

Chance

You're killing me again
I've stared at that picture
An inappropriate amount of times
I dream about the moment when
I come alive
Under your eyes
Feel me out here
And not in a literal sense
I just want what any girl wants
And that's a chance

And I Still Dream of You

i. Longing
Oh, what good does such time have?
Such empty hours, wasted days!
Who would steal such sweetness from these moments,
Murder memories before they have the chance to live?
Who would steal unborn kisses from young lovers' lips?
Such cruelty should be punishable by law!
And yet, to reach thee, my dear,
I go through toils and trials, interrogations, tortures,
Kept light only by the knowledge, that through it all,
My love waits patiently for my call.

Rhymless Poetry 7

Burst
My heart feels so full,
It's going to burst,
My cheeks feel so hot,
They're going to burn!
My brain fizzles and sparks,
It's going to explode,
My lungs defy oxygen,
I'm suffocating on excitement.
My lips turn up in a smile,
They're going to give me away,
My eyes sparkle gayly,
It's all too much to take in,
And my heart finally bursts.

Feeling Special
How can I express something so new?
How can I possibly convey to you,
That you make me feel special?
