I am the necklace
you never wear.
You stuff my golden chain
inside the darkness
of your drawer
and neglect to set my sapphire
close
to your neck
to gleam, to shine
in fulfilling light.
With delight you took me
but after
that you never wore me
once.
I think on what I’d ask
if you would only
listen.
Who are you to condemn
my illumination
to shadows?
Why may others
with less brilliance
than I
stand a chance
while I remain
hidden?
The house is sold.
You’ve moved away,
and left me
behind.
I cling to desperate hope
that some one
will find me
since you
forgot.

Wow. Have I ever felt like
Wow. Have I ever felt like that before. This was downright amazing; I could feel all the emotions. I didn't really see the necklace as a necklace though.

Hey, thanks for commenting! My profile picture is actually from the TV series, Robin Hood, and that is Marian.
Guilt trip.
That necklace is seriously bitter. But the poem is beautiful and well-written.
