While all the Earth is Quiet

While all the earth lies restful
And the lands lay under cover of sleep
Awake the watchfulness of peace sounds
Awake the awareness of God surrounds
Awake the love of His heart resounds

When the wetness of morn’s dew gathers on thin grass blades
On your heart a hand bades you rest, on mother Mary’s breast
When the moon rises and the stars gather sparkling in the sky
The angels surround your weary face, and sing softly songs of grace

Awake the watchfulness of peace sounds
Awake the awareness of God surrounds
Awake the love of His heart resounds

Clear the night grows, passed the light of day, and the new rest slips on
The sun taken, the clouds lingering, and the new rest slips on
The moon rises, the tide flows, and the new rest slips on
The heat gone, the coolness hangs, and the new rest slips on

Awake the watchfulness of peace sounds
Awake the awareness of God surrounds
Awake the love of His heart resounds

The morning dew collected, the birds have sundered their song
The moon sets, peace strengthened, your heart leaps with joy
The sun rises into the sapphire dome, and the songs of early mass roam
Your past troubles healed, your heart sealed with love, and all anew

Awake the watchfulness of peace sounds
Awake the awareness of God surrounds
Awake the love of His heart resounds
