Verse 1
I was dreaming of a land
to which I found a boat to sail away
You were there
The sea was grand, you held my hand
I sat up front and closed my eyes and felt
Wind in my hair
And you were there
And I was hoping for a smile
that set much later than the sinking sun
Not a care
And I’d have stood there for awhile
you looked so lovely in that golden light
No worse for wear
And you were there
So I said…
Chorus
Would you meet me on
This side of serenity x3
Would you meet me would
Would you meet me
Verse 2
The horizon spilled out like a perfect
Coastal promise that I’d find my way
Nothing compared
And you screamed at last you had a purpose
Blinking in the brilliance of a sky
Two heartbeats shared
Nothing compared x2
Chorus
Bridge
When we hit the shore
You know it’s gonna change things
That words often sound different
In the shade
And if we step on sand
I might not wear the same face
Marveling magnificence
Betrayed
But one thing I’ll remember as the same x2
You were there x3
Chorus
I promise that it’s better than you dream x3
As I said, it's far from perfect! Thank you for listening if you do. <3

I read the lyrics, then
I read the lyrics, then listened - the words are really good, and especially took flight with the music. Thanks for sharing!
Forgot to tell you this
Forgot to tell you this became one of my "editing songs" for a couple days where I loop a song for a half hour or an hour, haha... Soooo beautiful. Your voice is like wooing honey.
Girls, you all are absolutely
Girls, you all are absolutely lovely!
Madalyn Clare--awwww, thank you! Your comment brought a smile and so much joy! <3 and THANK YOU! I looked up Gabrielle Aplin and that is SUCH a compliment. I must say, if you like her, have you listened to A Fine Frenzy? (name taken after Shakespeare, I believe...) She is absolutely one of my favorite singer-songwriters...her storytelling is phenomenal, especially in "One Cell in the Sea". You ought to look her up! Her real name is Alison Sudol and she has one of my favorite voices ever, and I feel like listening to her has really helped me.
Hannah--thank you so much!
Sarah--awwwwwwwwww you are wonderful!!! I always get excited when I see you've commented on anything of mine, ugh! It's like celebrity acknowledgement. hahaha!
In. Awe.
So I listened while I read and may I say you have a beautiful voice and, to top that, a beautiful song?
I really enjoyed the singer-songwriter cadence and lilt to it, and your use of alliteration and repetition aided to its story-telling (and also its peaceful imagery!). Glorious. *Cue applause*
Your tune, use of piano, lyrics, and voice remind me of a British singer-songwriter Gabrielle Aplin. If you haven't heard of her, I think that you'd enjoy her music, as yours reminds me so much of it.
All in all, it's a really well put together song with lovely imagery and tune.
