I: glorious love
sleepness nights
inside my bed
breathless cries
inside my head
a dream, a wish, a hope, a need
haunt my mind
when I can't sleep
glorious love
a heart so fine
your heart I dream of
becoming mine
II: share
I want to share my life with you
share each sound of each day
share the sunrise, the morning chill
share the scent of coffee grounds
share the song on the radio
share the sunlight dappled by trees
share the heat, the mid-afternoon breeze
share my silence and my words
share the stars, so high above
share my heart and share my love.
III: haunted eyes
behind spidery lashes
and a painted-on smile
haunted eyes gaze out
upon the world
eyes are the windows to the soul
haunted souls in spidery cages
locking themselves in
protecting themselves
from the world outside
trying to heal scars
and never be vulnerable again
but in the process
slowly killing themselves
IV: why try
cynically waiting
cynicism pervading
headache begins to start
thoughts and ideas
quelled with one glance
all that remains is the same and yet worse
nothing I do will matter at all
why try
when I know I will fall
V: valuable
what makes something timeless
extend through barriers of time and space
reaching through generations
perhaps forgotten but not replaced
what makes something priceless
valuable beyond appraising
beauty is in the eye of the beholder
out of reach still waiting
what makes something worth it
sacrifice for a greater reward
is it selfless or merely wasteful
accumulation of a greater hoard
VI: Numbers and Letters
letting numbers and letters define who I am
defining myself in their terms
reducing myself to a size and a shade
beauty becomes a mathematical formula
only a few right answers
nothing more
social security identification
numbers and letters again and again
all your life's choices
recorded in stone
numbers and letters
into dates stitched and sewn
all the letters and numbers in blind concertation
plowing and reaping our humanity in cold machination
perhaps this is cynical
but can't you see?
those numbers and letters we can't live without
these numbers and letters come with a price
whether the price is too high
we must all soon decide
numbers and letters
locking in our lives
VII: Would You Like
would you like me more
if we never fought
would you love me better
if I always agreed
I know I don't always
behave as I ought
but really
all that I need
to know is,
is being me
good enough for you,
and if it's not,
perhaps you
are not good enough for me.
Please comment and critique and just generally tell me your thoughts! I love it when you do. And FYI, I have 3 posts from May and June which were only recently published, and I'd appreciate it if you'd also comment/critique on any you choose to read. Thank you!!!

Thank you both so much! You two are always so sweet!

I liked all of them, but
I liked all of them, but especially Share. It was so relatable and sweet.

Aww, these were sweet. I liked glorious love the most; then numbers and letters were like I was reading reality. It was so real.
And the last one, Would You Like, was cute too. I just LOVE your poems! They are so good! (I will go and read your other posts!)
