Associate Writership

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Sun, 02/24/2013 - 21:48

If you go to the Fiction tab (or Poetry or Essay I assume) you will see that some people are WRITERS. I Have the word ASSOCIATE next to my name. What's that deal? Does it mean I've been here longer than some people? Does it mean I'm a better writer? (Would not have guessed that one.)
Does it mean I've been denied a request for writership and given a consolation position? (I actually haven't requested writership that I can remember.)

I don't have the answers to these questions. Sorry.

Aalen, everyone on apricotpie has a status. There are several different types: "ADMIN", "EDITOR", "WRITER". and "ASSOCIATE".

Admins are those that are able to except aplications for membership, along with a whole list of other things.

Editors are those people that read through things that are submited for review, and either publish it, or don't.

Writers, or as most people call them, Monthly Writers, are those writers that are given the privelege of not having to have their works read through by an editor, but are able to publish it themselves; also, their works are shown on the front page of this website.

Associates are just the regular writers that have to have their works submited. That's all.

Probably the reason that you were confused is that "ASSOCIATE" never was listed next to your name before. I do not know the reason that it is now, except that it happened after James fixed the site. Before, if you had looked closely, you would have noticed that instead of "ASSOCIATE" next to you name, there would have been a star like this:   *   For some reason, that was changed and it now says "ASSOCIATE". I hope that cleared that up for you!

I am aware that Maddi is not an associate, but that is a mistake. Currently, Maddi has no status. Don't ask me how that works, but it does. It is an easy thing to fix, so when James comes over on Saturday, I will have him fix it. (I would fix it, as I know how, except I don't have Admin rights.)

If you see anymore members that don't have a status, please let me know so that I can fix it.

I don't have a status!! But--wait! *just goes to check something*
Yes! Remember, I am from Australia....and this other guy I got on is from my town and he also does not have a stat! Whoa! It couldn't be something to do with that we're living down here?? Could it?? Weird.

I noticed the associate thing, but now we're all writers? Bwahahahahahaha! Aliens somewhere in cyberspace are really bored. :) But thanks for asking the question in the first place!
