The Heart Cast Aside

I stand and shiver,
it is just the way I live now.
The tide is closing in,
it is drowning my burning heart.

Clouding thoughts,
a foggy life.
I feel like you were a dream,
your intense blue eyes.

Laughs have flown,
my smiles gone.
You wear yours for her alone,
She’s the one you’ve found.

No clarity of any kind.
Like the winds in the cove
you haunt my mind.
You have made me unknown.

My sunny days
now dark and arresting.
Drenched in grey
not bitter sweet but depressing.

Cold spray
takes cruelly my song
and my breath away.
Do you know why I long?

Living has turned into
dying with creativity.
Something that is hard to do
it smears the line of death and divinity.

I look to those I knew before,
the ones who remained true
instead of those who tore.
In those unfeigned, my love has been renewed.
