OOC: I haven't posted or read anything on here in a long while. I feel kinda bad because I have writing projects I said would be continued. And I haven't... I'm writing this short story for two reasons: 1. I feel like I should post something , and 2. I had this idea that I really want written.
Daethelin Ciryatan stood next to a tall, gnarled oak. She looked up at the dark sky through the leaves. Her black armour clinked as she reached out and touched the tree.
"Sister?"
Daethelin turned. Standing a stones throw away was an elf dressed in full battle armour.
"Aerandir? What are you doing here?"
The elf stepped into the moonlight.
"I am searching for a small dragon. Have you seen one, perhaps?"
"A dragon? I fear not. Why?
Aerandir glanced back over his shoulder.
"My lady's meolooke has run off."
Daethelin laughed. "A cat-dragon?"
"Yes." Aerandir looked sombre.
Daethelin stopped giggling. "Oh. Is she quite sad?"
Aerandir looked up absentmindedly. "What? Oh, yes. Very... sad."
"What is it?" Daethelin tried to follow her brother's gaze.
"I'm... not sure. Milady seems distracted."
"You seem distracted, brother."
The elf turned away, then looked back. "I must find the meolooke."
"Aerandir," Daethelin said softly, "That is not all. Tell me what is wrong."
"Daethelin Nightlark, I have something very important to tell you."
"What?" Daethelin looked worried.
"A human came to our camp today. He was dressed finely, rode a white horse and had a white falcon on his fist. He dined with the Captain and our lady."
Daethelin searched her brother's eyes, but they avoided hers.
"Daethelin, he inquired after me. We spoke for a while, and he asked about... you."
Daethelin gasped. "What? Why"
"He wishes you and I to accompany him on a journey to the dwarf capitol."
"For what purpose?"
Aerandir was about to answer, when a small, black dragon darted past. "Quick, catch it!"
Daethelin reached out and snagged the meolooke out of midair. "Here is your dragon. Now tell me what the human wanted!"
"He is recruiting warriors. For a quest to capture the Rookur Rukoor.
Daethelin stomped her foot, causing her armour to clank loudly. "That is all? You made it sound like he wanted my hand!"
Aerandir laughed. "You make it easy, sister!"
Daethelin quickly drew her bow. "I will end you."
"You know for a fact that the arrow would never reach me."
Daethelin returned the bow to the rack on her armour's spine. "No. It would not."
Aerandir offered her his arm. "Shall we away?"
Daethelin Ciryatan grabbed her brother's hand and ran, yanking him along.
"Careful! I may drop the meolooke."
The forest grew silent once more as the dark elves vanished into the night.
OOC: I based this story off of a picture I drew. I'll put a link up when I upload it.
I've been away for a long while. I do plan to finish everything I've started on here, but for now, I hope you enjoy this random story.

Love this!
It is captivating and mysterious and full of realistic dialogue and humor! Love.
Daethelin stomped her foot, causing her armour to clank loudly. "That is all? You made it sound like he wanted my hand!" -- I smiled at that. Because it really did sound like that - good skill!
Great job! I loved this whole piece.

Thanks
Glad you like it. Makes me want to continue.
I really like writing dialogue because I can imagine having the conversations with the characters, which is really fun.
And I REALLY hope the last part of your comment is a quote, cause everyone needs to know what elves are. Just sayin'...

Actually, no, it's not a quote. I really don't know what elves are except it's got to do with Lord of the Rings. But I know what Hobbits are!

Hmm...
I may be writing an explanation just for people like you soon.

You sad human.
Someone needs to explain it to you. I would, but I'm out of posts for the week.

Hello!
Um, when are you going to do that elf-explanation-thing-o?? Looking forward to it. No pressure. :) Just remember, in the meantime, Lucy Anne is suffering unconsciously from not knowing what elves are!!
P.S. Love your pic...did you draw it yourself??

Working on it.
I'll need a good time to crash and write, something I haven't had for a while.
And thank you, yes, I did draw the pic.

Sister?
Am I reading into things that I shouldn't? Because Aerandir doesn't act like this to Daethelin at home. Btw, I'm still not learning Morse Code. .-..-.--. What did that say?
Oh for the times when I felt invincible.
Um, That's because these guys are fictitious...
I would guess you're reading too far into it. These aren't based on anyone.
As for the morse code, what you wrote doesn't say anything. Try including spaces between the letters. .-.. .. -.- . / - .... .. ... / [the // are breaks between words.]

Love your random story!
I am a bit obsessed with Elfs at the moment, as I am just getting to like them while reading LOTR. So, I really like this idea. Hope you post more of this and the other story. Sick names too, by the way.
And be sure to upload that pic and give us a link. I love those type of things, drawing what I write or writing about what I draw. :)
