Immersing into Imagination: Chapter One (based of my poem Crystal Castle)

I know this needs serious editing, but please bear with me.

She knew it was true.

She knew because she had seen it herself. It lay there, in full view, half slipping of the kitchen bench. The screaming headlines stood out in bold print. “Mother disappeared into thin air,” they read. Her daddy looked up, his eyes filled with sorrow and fresh tears started anew, streaking down his well-worn face.

“She’s gone,” he said, “Gone for good.”

Thieves: Chapter 12

Jovlin was beginning to think that they were lost when something finally moved across the sky. The sun was beginning to set, and she was relieved to see a possible destination drawing near. Her eye ached in the dim red light of the setting sun, and she could barely make out the creature in front of her. Or perhaps it was not a creature at all, but a floating castle. This seemed impossible, but there were doors in the side of it and a few windows scattered across whatever it was. Still, she had seen many strange things happen over the past day, and she was not going to rule anything out.

Thieves: Chapter 11

It was not the feeling of flying through the air or the thought of falling that terrified Kamber so much. It was not what lay ahead either, but what was far behind. Kamber was frozen in fear at the thought of confronting his family and his past, as he knew he would have to if he continued on his current course. Even more than that, he was frozen in place by the thought of telling everyone who his father really was.

The following is adapted from a series of discussions and thought experiments between myself and LKR.

Thought Experiment 1
Locate:
What if an alien took everyone from earth except you and one other person? You don't know who they are or where, but you are charged with finding them. If you succeed, everyone will be restored.
How would you go about survival and eventually locating and reaching the other person?

Thought Experiment 2
Friends:
What if everyone disappeared except you and your friends? Who would be left?

Notes:

This has been very much revised compared to my first draft. If you haven't read my first draft, don't; at least not until you've read this one. I am leaving it on apricotpie only for history's sake.

Thank you Anna for your comment, it has helped me improve this story a great deal. I have hopefully gotten rid of my major problems and added a few characters. (Well, I had them planned before, they just didn't appear until a latter chapter)

Thieves: Chapter 10

Okay, so I've figured it out. Every time I promise to get something up quickly, something happens and it doesn't get on here for weeks. So, I'm really sorry that I haven't posted this until now, and I'm really sorry for how much I apologize. Also, I promise not to make promises in my posts again anytime soon. Okay, so that's a little exaggerated, but I at least will stop promising to get the next bit up soon and hopefully it will happen anyways. :) (See my logic?) DREAM ON READERS- I would have posted some chapters from Dream On this week, but I have hit a bit of writers block.

Thieves: Chapter 9

Jovlin was still looking out of the window when something zoomed past her so fast that she couldn’t really see what it was. At first she thought it must be a giant bird, because she was certain she had felt the touch of feathers on her face as a wing passed her, but it was much too big for a bird. Suddenly, the sky was full of brightly colored flashes, flying through the air as if chasing the wind. They swooped around, chasing each other with such speed that they could not clearly be seen. Each was a different color, each seemed a different size.

OOC go check out the song "Written Emotions" by MitiS before you read on. Previous Chapter Nick could hardly contain his mirth. Not that he was trying very hard. He clearly enjoyed the look on the two separatists faces. (let it be noted, Reader, that Milla is a separatist too but doesn't know what's going on) Adren was yelling at Nick, "What are you doing here! Why are you spying on us? Why did you put that note in the book! How did you know I'd find it? You didn't even get my name right!
