Sorrowful Mother

Submitted by Mairead on Tue, 07/23/2013 - 03:51

Teach my heart how to grieve for Him,
let me know what i need to give,
guide my desire
to be for none other
than His bruised heart.
You answered yes to His call
you gave everything,
you nurtured Him in the womb, birthed Him
He made you clean.
You know the meaning of victory
facing unthinkable odds
you lived the passion
your heart was torn
you died with Him
you had to remain after He rose.
You know the meaning of triumph
beyond the hurt
beyond the scars
beyond the despair

Greek and Roman-Chapter IV: The Colosseum

Submitted by j. Glen pollard on Thu, 06/27/2013 - 04:17
SUNSHINE filled Titus’s room. He awoke and he thought for a moment that he was back in Greece. But he wasn’t. He was still in Rome and lying on a very soft and comfortable bed. He looked across the room and saw that a toga was hanging on a wall. Titus leaped out of his bed. He strode over to it and felt the fabric touch his fingertips. He stared in awe at the ancient yet beautiful design of the toga. And it actually belonged to Father. And then, the images of last night came back to him.

Greek and Roman-Chapter III: Visiting the School

IT took Titus several minutes to catch up with Flora. Whenever he was even half an inch from her, she would look behind and speed with more power from which Titus knew not where it came from.

When he had finally overtaken her, it was when he had turned a corner and she was waiting for him near a small building. It was house. And inside were several boys and an old man. Titus realized that this was a school.

Everything Went Dark

Submitted by Riah on Tue, 04/23/2013 - 03:21

With one look, one breath, one faltering step
Everything went dark
With one voice, one cry, one moment in time
Everything became nothing
With one word, one touch, one last glance
Everything fell apart

With one prayer, one plea, one desperate hope
We struggle to believe
With one call, one word, one sorrow-filled voice
All hope is broken
With one scream, one moan, one terrorized pain
My heart is rent
With one gasp, one sob, one-hundred hot tears
The night is sleepless

The Depth of A Reflection

Grey clouds blanketed the sky. Darker clouds loomed ahead, warning of impending rain. Thunder rumbled faintly in the distance.
A dirt road wound its way through the countryside. Trees lined either side of the well-worn path, offering shelter should it be needed. Autumn had worked its wonders, and the trees were now boasting bright orange and crimson leaves.

Joy in Every Circumstance

"...my life is not pleasing to God, nor honoring Him, if I do not claim His abundant provision for joy in every circumstance." - Sara Yoder, The Way She Chose by Mary Miller

At church yesterday, my friend Sarah lent me this book and when I arrived home, I began reading it. Before the author builds up to this quote, Sara had encountered many difficulties in life that occurred because she was stubborn, refusing to pay heed to her parents and church's warnings in the way she lived her life.

EXT. ENCAMPMENT - HILL - DAY

The team crouches behind some rocks.
Tuor peeks over one of the boulders.
He exchanges a glance with Aerandir.
They all look at each other, and move towards the camp.

The team makes their way into a main tent.
Tuor, Lessien and Valandil stop by the tent opening and watch while Aerandir opens a small, wooden chest.
He pulls a stuffed animal and a carved statuette out of the chest.
The team looks hopefully at Aerandir.

Think this one’ll work?

The Thumb Drive

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Fri, 08/31/2012 - 18:43

The following is a true story. I am writing this mere minutes after it happened. I am a musician. I do most, if not all of my work on a computer. I keep a lot of information and samples and other important things on a thumb drive. The thumb drive is an HP, model FD USB drive. I've customized it by gluing a broken Shift key to the front. Yesterday I went to the visitation for my great-grandmother's funeral. I had the thumb drive in my pocket then.
