The following is a true story. I am writing this mere minutes after it happened. I am a musician. I do most, if not all of my work on a computer. I keep a lot of information and samples and other important things on a thumb drive. The thumb drive is an HP, model FD USB drive. I've customized it by gluing a broken Shift key to the front. Yesterday I went to the visitation for my great-grandmother's funeral. I had the thumb drive in my pocket then. Afterward, on the way to the house we were staying in, I was changing out of my khaki pants into my jeans and I noticed my thumb drive was missing. I thought about where I could have lost it. I remembered that, when I was changing into the khaki pants before the visitation, I had dropped some of the contents of my pockets on the floor. Today, after the funeral service, I went back to the room I thought the thumb drive might be lost in. I searched the room but did not find the drive. Then I looked in the car to see if I had lost it while changing then. I could not find it. When we returned to the house we had stayed in, my Dad looked in the car. He found the drive in the exact place I had looked. He handed me the drive and we walked in the house. I changed out of the suit I was wearing and helped pack all of our things. Then I noticed the thumb drive missing, again. We looked all over the room, in the places I had walked and in all of our bags and pockets. We did not find it. As we were about to leave to go back home, I looked in the pocket of the suit I had been wearing. I found the drive. As I think now about the places we looked and the places the drive was lost, I think of two things. First, the drive was found, both times, in the places we had already looked thoroughly. If you lose something, pray about it and look in the places you already looked. Second, I lost the drive, both times, in my pants. So don't wear pants. Just kidding. Don't think that just because you've made sure of something that it's true. Be sure of anything you think, but keep researching it.

Good
Good essay!

Just kidding.
Have to admit I smiled at that.
This sounds similar to when you're looking for something. Everywhere. And then you realize what you're looking for is in your hand. (-_-) Which is never a shining moment for anybody.
Anyways, good job! Good essay!
Maddi and Homie,
Thank you both. Yeah, like finding your glasses on top of your head makes anyone feel bad.
The worst part, though, is I'm absolutely sure we looked in both places.
I dunno...

I have done the exact same thing. Nice morale at the end; very well ended. :D
