Guns roaring
The day is wet
Airplanes soaring
And their speeding jets.
The men sit down to say
Their prayers each day
Before they rise
Before they eat
Before they fight
Before they sleep.

Fighting for our Country
They try to survive
Yearning for freedom
Giving back our lives
Pray for them
Son or friend
Father or cousin
Because they defend
A world so bright
Learning to fight.

God is Love
God is Grace

Giving us strength in times of haste
Loving us in all our mistakes
Filling us with peace through our repents
Holding us close when love is spent

God is Refuge
God is Good

Taking us in his caring hands
Letting us rest in his careful plans
Everthing that is he knows
Making all things new

God is Peace
God is Surety

Taking our fear and anxiety
Wiping our tears lovingly
Telling us "Follow me."
Knowing all that is to come

Beautiful Maiden, Star of the sea,
Look down with love, upon me.
Give me grace, hope, love and truth,
To keep with forever through old age and youth.
Guide me with Your glittering eyes,
Comfort me with Your calming arms,
Kiss me with Your tender lips,
And hold me away from harms.

(I figured this should go under poetry, even though it's a prayer. Praying can be very like poetry sometimes, and vice versa...)
