New Year's Eve Prayer

(I figured this should go under poetry, even though it's a prayer. Praying can be very like poetry sometimes, and vice versa...)

O Lord of Time
the Beginning and the End
my Savior and my Friend
teach me to live…
Another year has passed
and I look back and ponder all the memories
some days good, some days bad
always moving with time
as time always moves
and I move with it
And, Lord, for the times that I protested
for the times I failed
for the times I doubted
for the times I strayed
forgive me
For the moments of anger
the moments of envy
the moments of pride
the moments of deceit
forgive me
But, Lord, remember the victories
keep them ever in my heart
and so let their memory spur me on
towards holiness
as another year I embrace
And in this year, Lord, be my vision
be my blessing
be my perseverance
be the hope in my heart
be the song in my voice
be the smile in my eyes
be the will in my mind
be the strength in my limbs
Teach me to hear You
to feel You
to see You
to know You
to trust You
to follow You
O Lord of Time
the Beginning and the End
my Savior and my Friend
teach me to live
Amen
