False Romance, Chpt. 1

Submitted by Arya Animarus on Sat, 03/19/2011 - 04:25

I hope you enjoy this. It started with a simple idea. We are building a new garage onto our house, and the entrance to the second floor is through my room. On the first warm day of the year, I was in there and I had the windows open. the room in the first part of the story is like the incomplete upstairs of our garage. To enlarge a little, it is just plywood and boards. If you have ever seen the inside of a house or shed under construction, you'll know what this is like. i described it pretty well in the story, but that's enough of an intro. Please enjoy this.

Chapter Two: Queen among the Narcissi

Blood stained Julian’s clothes, and he could do nothing about it. Caked mud had helped until it dried and fell away in chunks.
Goodness knew Julian had spent enough time in mud, trying to bury the old one with all the mourning rites he remembered. He had memorized quite a few in the time he had had to think about death—too much time out of his life.
I never asked his name.

Lord Salmalinzink

The shadows fell like rain filling the streets of a victorian London but on second glance it wasn't Earth. A boot black boy ran past, his tan cap wet with rain.  His ears pointed.

It was night in the land of the Fay and the rain toumbled down.  A tall dark shadow slipped threw the deserted streets.  His cloak pulled tight around him obscured his face.  He glanced back and forth to see if he was being followed before stepping into the shadow of a shop door.

The bell on the door jangled softly as he shut the door behind him.

Philip Gray applied the finishing touches to his tie as he stood in front of a mirror. He took a deep, long look at his head make sure that each hair was in its proper place. Finally, he was ready for his date! After two hours of meticulous dressing, ounces upon ounces of hair gel and cologne, and careful preening of his garments, Philip decided it was time to call Renee to tell her when he was going to pick her up. His heart fluttered briefly as his finger flew over the well-known numbers on his phone. Renee’s melodious voice answered, and Philip faltered momentarily.

Wistmist-Dark Shadow

When shadows fade and shadows fall

Darkness creeps and rolls

The desert man made of sand cries out

“What a laugh, did you think this was a pure romance story? I mean come on.  How could I let my author write something like that? It would have no place in it for a villain like me.

WONDERLAND

Throughout high school, I had always told Elaine she was the prettiest girl in school, but she never believed me.

When by luck we wound up in the same college together, I wrote down on a semi-finals test paper what she called an 'essay'; on how she was the prettiest girl in the college.

Everywhere...

Behind me, in front of me,

Upheld in the air.

You whisper to me gently.

You are everywhere.

You are invisible,

Almost permissible.

Not quite confessible.

You are everywhere.

You are a light in the darkness,

Contrasted with blackness,

A beautiful likeness

Of God, Spirit and Son.

With his righteousness in you,

His love all around you.

There's something about you.

You are everywhere.

Not lightly I take this,

Nor heavy I make this,
