sovereignty

Of God I Know Not Much

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Thu, 03/14/2019 - 22:23

The grace of God I find sweet
Yet sweeter still, and more meet
Is His sovereignty;
Lending greatest peace

Of God I know not much
In comparison, though such
A vast deal is left to be learnt
Still I know enough

Bury not beneath pride
And to the world be not tied
Nor find heart and soul in rust
But in Him, your trust

These simple truths I ache to learn
Though not for a crown to earn
But to honor One whom I love
And see Him above

Faith

The path once so bright
Now hidden from sight
Is not to be seen
Behind its own screen
I crave the white light
Luminescent sight
I reach out my hand
"Right now!" I demand
And then I fall down
I scrape myself brown
And trust I do not
This can't be my lot
This dreary old way
Upon which I lay
Not fit for my feet
No, not even meet
I thought myself good
But there as I stood
I fell down again
Broken in my pain
I cried out in fear
"Lord why am I here?!"

It's Here!

Just like that. After seven-and-a-half years, eight drafts, countless revisions, and a title change, my first novel is now published and available.
Finally--finally!--after all these years, it's 100\% complete and out there on the market for real.
