Oh Wonder Why the Sun Fell: Chapter Ten

*Sorry these chapters are to short......*

Chapter Ten

We fought in the dim, and I strove to stay him where no one took notice of us. His sword fell heavy, a great weight of steel. Yet he drew me back, back to where the shadows engulfed us. I drew my distance from him so not to be approached nearer. Our sword blows were heaving, struggling against the other more than we flashed them about. We continued to draw further away from the din. The buildings shadowed us, the darkness was impenetrable. The form of my enemy seemed to become one with it.

Chapter Eight

*I apologize for not appearing on this beautiful (and happily staying open, thank you James!) website for somewhere around four months….alas! I think I have failed as a monthly writer….anyway, here is the next chapter*

We were separated by the width of the opening to the courtyard. We drew our gazes to each other for a moment, and I whispered:

Awakening

Submitted by Keri on Thu, 05/06/2010 - 15:02

Awake, my dear, awake

The morning you must take

You must fight the unknown fears

That have haunted all for years

As you lie there in bed

People tremble in dread

Only you can help

Beat  pain like a whelp

You have lived your life in comfort

You must do what you were born for

So rise from you sleep

Let your sword cut deep

I know you dream deep dreams

Void of any screams

But you must hear terror today

As the wickedness you slay

Amy and Jo’s Horrible Fight

I had to write a poem surmising chapter eight of L. M. Alcott's "Little Women" for a creative writing class. Hope you enjoy it!

It all started that cold winter’s night,
Any and Jo started that horrible fight.
That is the way it started that day
Listen closely and hear what I say.

The Biggest Dragon

Submitted by Hannah W. on Sat, 11/01/2008 - 23:43

Today I fought a dragon--
I fought it!
And then I caught the dragon--
Yes, yes, I caught it!

Sound the trumpets,
have a parade,
reward me with crumpets and lemonade!
Becuase I fought a dragon!

The dragon was big and mean,
his scales were shiny and green,
but then I fought him,
and then I caught him!

Throw me a ball
here at the palace
for I rid the kingdom of all evil and malice!
When I fought the dragon!

That's Family for Ya'

So........what do you get when you cross a little sister that adores bossing people around, with two little brothers that resent people bossing them that aren’t Mother or Step-Father or Oldest Sister (me)?
I know exactly what you get: Absolute chaos. (when mom isn’t around.) See, little sister (Hannah) thinks it’s her God-given right to boss little brothers (Josh and Jon), but even she has enough sense not to do it when Mom’s around because Mom does not let Hannah boss the boys, when she’s around.
So here’s one such Mom’s-not-around-scene.

A Nightmare

Submitted by Gregory on Mon, 07/02/2007 - 23:21

A nightmare
We did not know
What to do. It was
Like hell on earth,
But we were brave.
Many young souls
Were spared, young souls were lost,
but God was with us
And all the shouting
Was music to us!
BAGNG BOOM!
Was all that could
Be heard!
God is by our side.
