So........what do you get when you cross a little sister that adores bossing people around, with two little brothers that resent people bossing them that aren’t Mother or Step-Father or Oldest Sister (me)?
I know exactly what you get: Absolute chaos. (when mom isn’t around.) See, little sister (Hannah) thinks it’s her God-given right to boss little brothers (Josh and Jon), but even she has enough sense not to do it when Mom’s around because Mom does not let Hannah boss the boys, when she’s around.
So here’s one such Mom’s-not-around-scene.
Hannah: Josh, go get me that book.
Josh: No.
Hannah: Yes! I want it and I don’t feel well enough to get it myself! I have a cold.
(laying back dramatically with one hand on forehead.)
Jon: You have no right to boss us around! Now SHUT UP!
Hannah(shouting): I have freedom of speech!
Jon(screaming): Not when you’re under eighteen!
Josh(fiddling with his legos): Shut up both of you, I’m trying to concentrate!
Jon: Don’t tell me what to do!
Josh: I will if I want, now be quiet!
Jon: Come and make me! (balling his hands into fists and clenching and unclenching them suggestively.)
Josh: I will!
Jon: I’ll beat you to a pulp!
Hannah: No fighting in the house!
Josh: *shrieks inhumanly*
Jon: *shrieks louder*
Both Boys and Hannah: *try to outdo each other yelling at each other*
Boys: *assorted fighting sounds and cries of “foul!”*
(I look up from my book for the first time noticing the commotion.)
Sarah(me): What’s everyone doing?!
Boys: It was Hannah’s fault!
Hannah: I wasn’t the one fighting!
Sarah: Everyone quiet! You do realize that if you’re being bad when Mom gets home she’ll blame me ‘cause I’m the oldest?
*boys return to fighting and Hannah resumes screaming*
Mom walks in the door.
Mom: Sarah! I hold you responsible for this mess! *gesturing at the overturned coffee table and assorted small objects* And for this fighting! Now clean it up while I decide what to do with you!
Sarah: *sighs*
So, this is my slightly dramatized version of what happens frequently when Mom goes away for an hour or so, I have a good book and Hannah is feeling especially in-charge.

Yeah, something similar to this happens every couple of weeks. Hannah is inordiantely fond of bossing, and the boys are inordinantley fond of fighting. But such if the life of an older sib. :)

I only have one yonger
I only have one yonger sister (my older siblings are away) and she's almost as old as I am (sixteen months difference). However she bosses me around all the time. The worst thing is, I do what she tells me to. So sad (shedding a tear). You know she even has me saying please and thank you to her. But that's not the worst! I have to call her master!!! (This is where I scream and open my eyes very big, and then after screaming breath hard and try to get control over myself).
