Stereotypes. Whether we see them as false, but based on general knowledge, or as completely false and too ridiculous to even mention, stereotypes influence the way we think about others. More surprisingly, they influence the way we think about ourselves.
There was a study done on Asian women. You see, everyone knows that Asians are really good at math. And everyone knows that women are really bad at math. Right?
Why homeschool? The question is simple enough, but to answer it brings one into an epicenter of debate: in parenting, in education, in socialization, and in religion. For me, the quick answer is, "Why not?" I have loved homeschooling the whole time, and personally could not imagine a better option. There are some more solid reasons, of course, for why I think homeschooling is a good choice. But first, here is what homeschooling has done for me.

Normally when someone asks, "What school do you attend?” they expect a reply similar to “I go to P.S. 103” or “I attend Maple Grove Christian School.” They do not, in most cases, expect the response “I’m homeschooled.” In fact, for the few non-homeschoolers who have heard of homeschooling, some consider it as a cult. Despite this, every Christian parent should prayerfully consider homeschooling their children.
The Most Asked Questions about Homeschooling
You know all the stupid little questions that everybody automatically asks you directly after you say “Oh, I’m homeschooled”. Sometimes, when I’m so sick of people asking questions, my reply to their “So what school do you go too?” is just naming the local high school. And after that people don’t think twice.

Note: This is by no means a complete essay... there are many issues to consider when pushing for/advocating homeschooling for everyone. Yes, I believe it is biblical, but the way the world is right now it is not possible for everyone to homeschool. Yet we cannot just sit back and say the world isn't ready, because unless we start to change it, it never will. Start with what we can do, leave the rest to God.
I’ve had some thoughts recently about homeschooling, and I thought I would share them with you. Perhaps they are a bit disorganized; for this I apologize. But they are issues close to my heart. Perhaps one of these days I will organize them into a series of well thought-out essays.
My teachers, they were fickle things
When I was still at school
