Heartfelt Song

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Wed, 03/06/2019 - 21:19

In the morning I hear a song
It plays so faintly, in my head
It starts while I am yet dreaming
Stretched upon my morning bed
But as the day goes by it grows
And I begin to hum along
For though it is a catchy tune
My heart remembers not the song
But quickly in the afternoon
I pick out the words, here and there
Til dinner comes with fork and spoon
And I am singing, unaware
So by the time I’m off for bed
I’m belting out a wordy song
An anthem of blessed thankfulness
As heartfelt as the day is long

Adoration

 Eerie mist blankets the road,

Golden sunlight bursting through

A forest draped in silv’ry gauze

Midst pre-dawn stillness and dew,

He is there, watching o’er us.

At sunrise sisters journey through the woods,

Blades of grass bend beneath their running tread,

They stop to gather flower and feather,

And watch the deer and her kin far ahead.

And He is there, before us.

Grey fog rises from the field of dreams,

Color streaks the sky beyond the hay

God Is Great

God is greatly to be praised,

For he Christ from death hath raised.

He is the triune and almighty God,

Adam he made from the sod.

He is God almighty throughout the heavens,

Sing to him with joyful hymns.

All things that on the earth do live,

To him your praise now give.

The mighty trees of cedar high,

They show that he is always nigh.

The tender fern so meek and low,

Murmurs that he made them so.

God saw it was good...

It has been years since my guitar was put to use. I have fiddled with it, and I use it fairly regularly in my own quiet times, but I have not had the chance to play for others in a very long time. All of sudden that changed. I went to a prayer/worship meeting a few weeks ago (had a wonderful time) and enjoyed the worship even though the only music available was from a cd. Well, somehow in the course of the following week my husband mentioned to someone from the group that I used to lead worship with my guitar. The response was immediate, and I played for the first time last Monday night.
