Part 16

Morning dawned cool and fresh, just the opposite of my pent-up and feverish thoughts. I lay in my cot a few moments after waking because I knew I wouldn’t be able to look Bart in the eye without it all coming out.

When I did get up, though, I found I had a respite. Bart and some of the others were making sweeps outside the camp, checking and setting a few traps to give us fresh meat supply.

Craigin was already up and Gern’s bedroll was rumpled and body-less.

 Chapter Seven

Finding his True Love

The prince finally got out of his boat at the shore. He saw the beautiful palace. He went to the gate.

"Halt!" said a guard.

The prince was angry at this interruption.

"I am Prince Robert. I want to see the princess."

"Pass," said the guard.

The prince went to the palace and knocked on the throne room door because there was no guard there.

"Come in," he heard someone say.

Chapter Six: Palet

Battered

Submitted by Bernadette on Mon, 01/04/2010 - 19:13

Tossed by the sea’s great waves

And battered by the wailing wind.

The storm is crashing, the rain is pouring.

The sides are creaking, the sail is fallen.

Dark sky and grey sea

High prow and broken timbers.

Down, down, down.

Below, below, below.

Storm, storm.

Beneath.

The Altruism

“Mr. Geoffrey Forbes is hereby convicted of high treason against His Royal Majesty the King of England and sentenced to hang.” The mallet struck the desk. “This Court-Martial is now adjourned.”
Mr. Forbes sat dumbstruck. His mind filled with jumbled thoughts.
How could they? I’m a first lieutenant!
But I deserve it… it’s the just payment for what I did!
But death?
The word pounded in his mind.
Death.
Death.
Death.
The most shameful manner of death… hung – publically – for his crimes, like a criminal.

Peter Pan

Captivated, he stepped unto the plank
His sword unsheathed; his smile was broad
He cast his glance aside, waving his hand
The sea was tyrant; the fish were bored
He shuffled his feet and bounced upon the sea
Upon the water, one heel he did ski
In the hat, The Never Bird sat afloat
Merrily, he danced upon the leaping sea
The waters laughed as he jolted back
Smiling away, he threw his sword; it landed not
Through the air it flew, and so did he
