It's been a while! I have been so busy with traveling this summer (the inspiration for this poem, obviously. Lol). I don't think that I have told y'all yet, but I am leaving for college in a short 10 days! I am majoring in English with an emphasis on creative writing (largely due to this site) and minoring in education with the intention of becoming an English teacher. I am over-the-moon excited to be moving on to my next adventure. I don't know how much time I will have to devote to this site (although I am taking a creative writing class this semester...so that might actually help), but I just want to thank each and every one of you for all of the support and help y'all have given me through all the years. There is no way that I would be where I am today as a writer without the support system on this site. Thank you <3

Oh Erin, this is so lovely and beautiful! I have read and re-read this poem many times today because it is such a great poem to savor! I am very excited for you on your new adventure! You have my best wishes! I will say a prayer for your continued success in all your endeavors! Don't worry, even if you are like me and have a long hiatus during college, AP just has a way of drawing you back in :) There's just no place like it! I have no doubt that we will see you again many more times!

Hi Erin! This is a beautiful poem, especially after realizing what exactly it came from. I am so excited for you! I hope all goes well in college, and that you learn much about teaching and writing! Those two majors are something I have also thought about going into...
May God bless your journey in college! :)

Y'all are too kind! Thank you. Oh, and a special thanks to Wings of Eternity. It's such a compliment that you reread this! That makes me so happy.

I got so ridiculously excited when I came on here a couple days ago to find you had posted. I read it immediately but then got too lazy to comment. SO, here I am now--

This is so lovely. So, so gorgeous, and articulate, and really delicate. The line that seems to illustrate this poem best is "fragile bird ankles"--I adore that, and it fits the poem so well. Some of your best, Erin!

Keep me updated on all the college-y adventures you'll be having! ;)

ERIN. What a piece! The reason I love this so much is because it actually made me young again. Not to say I am old now, but I felt 11 years old again. I felt suddenly every care get tossed out the window, and then fanciful thinking and pure magic fill the room. I haven't had that feeling in a long time. Maybe I'm growing up too quickly. I often get sick from stress, and never ever have enough time to do anything. Anyway, that is so off track.

Ahh! College! How exciting! So are you moving away from home? That'll be an adventure in itself. I think you'd make an awesome English teacher. Primary or secondary kids??
At the time of reading this, I realise you would have already left, so I hope you're enjoying this TO THE MAX, and safe journeys for the rest xx

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

I'm 11 again. I'm in a fantasy world. This is wonderful, Erin. I feel almost like crying. I'm reliving the thought that mermaids exist. I'm thinking about the fairy world that I once daydreamed about. This is made me think stuff I haven't about in possibly a couple of years, which isn't a good sign. Ah, I feel eleven again. THankyou!

Ahh, thank you! I'm actually taking a creative writing class and submitted this, and my (very critical) professor said that he loved it. So that was a big confidence boost! I'm having a great time so far. Just lots and lots of homework. I love living on campus though. I got lucky enough to be paired with a great roommate as well.

They haven't released the new journal yet! So I'm not sure. I hope I can find it again, though--my flash drive with all of my writing from the past three years broke :-/
