Three Poems That Have A Tendency To Be About Love

Almost

My lips were but a breath from yours Close enough to touch But to close the tranquil distance I was not brave enough

And it left me feeling worried Think perhaps it was a mistake An unconscious slipping of my mind That toyed with both our fates

Because now I stand before him Worried, scared, confused And it is your thundering silence that Propels me to say I Do

---------------------------

that i love you

there's something in your laugh that makes my stomach dance like you placed ladybugs inside without room enough to fly and now i hide my eyes in your sleeve because it's too much to bear you here with me and there's something in your buoyant smile that's utterly transfixing like maybe your teeth shine with lights that blind me in their brilliant flight as they rise to newfound heights in your lips as they break into a stunning smile i'm who you picked and definitely something in your gentle hands delicate from use halts my breath when i touch your fingertips i do not trust myself to move but then i must it's a good kind of too much three steps away but still close enough to relay that i love you

Uncovered

Down goes the satin A robin's egg blue That wears hungry handprints Of lonely lads who Dared not to impeach Upon me their beliefs Only offered their hand For one lonely, fast dance I was not to refuse

Unlaced is the corset That held in all my faults And kept me all night The belle of the ball I stare in the mirror Think every day I am nearer To being those little glass girls Without a qualm in the world That pride themselves on being sublime

Off goes the shift And without it on I'm long limbs and no grace Skin pallid and wan Not what I concur To be soft and demur But rather obscene Yet they all envy me I uncovered Am obsolete

I love these so, so much. By far your best poetry! I think that I like the last one the best. I THINK, that is. They were all so good!

I've always enjoyed your writing, and these did not disapoint! I loved all three, but I think the last one was my favorite. 'Almost' is a close second, however. Thank you so much for sharing!

Very good, Homey! I liked how Almost was worded, that was great poetry, but I think Uncovered was nice as well. I love your title for the whole thing.

Little--(Sorry, I abbreviate names too much) Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment. Your poetry is just beautiful, so it meant a lot! Thank you.

Maddi--YOU'RE BACK! LOL!!! I was wondering where you had gone. Hahaha. Anyway, thank you for your kind comment! :)))
