The Absence Song
2-27-07

The Dragons are all gone, m’lord,
All broken, cold and stone
Their fires have long since burnt out
This world no more their home

The Dragons have all left, m’lord,
Dead, or flown away
But where they’ve gone no one can know
Where they now dwell, no man can say

The Dragons fly no more, m’lord,
Their wings are shattered shards
No more they soar before the moon
Or inspire royal bards

The Dragons be no more, m’lord,
And there is left a hole
Within the air, the waters, stone,
A hollow in the oak-tree’s bole

The Dragons are all gone, m’lord,
Their absence keenly felt
A void is left, unfilled, forgotten
Where splendor once had dwelt

And now our hearts will beat in time/You say I am yours and you are mine...
Michelle Tumes, "There Goes My Love"

I love the style of this poem. I wish I could express to you how much I like it, but at this moment in time, I am at a loss for words. All I can say is that it is fantastic!

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” Audrey Hepburn

Great job!

Deff my fave of hers. I like the first one too, but her third seemed a bit repeditive.

This reminds me of the poems from the Dragons in our Midst series. It's awesome. great job. Creative, too.

May it be when darkness falls / Your heart will be true / You walk a lonely road / Oh! How far you are from home...

It's amazing, does remind me of Dragons in Our Midst and Merlin's Riddle somewhat. Good job, Trav...er, LoriAnn. Guess who I am.
