a solitary tear glides down my cheek
the emblem of a night's bad dream
saltysweet i lie awake
realizing it was just a dream
just a dream my frenzied thoughts rest
i close my eyes and try to sleep
try to sleep though nightmares still creep
ready to pounce when i'm awake
yet when i sleep my dreams are free
free of fear and tears that glide
glide down my cheek though dreams be proved false
and so i sleep with peaceful dreams in me
nightmares fading only to be a faint belief
An old favorite I found in my notebook :)
