memory of chocolate

Tasting
the faint
memory of chocolate,
a bitter smoothness
coating my mouth,
a musty sweetness
scenting the air,
pressingly intangible,
touching my mind,
the memory of chocolate.

This is based on something my sister said in the car the other day; something about the 'memory of chocolate'. I liked it, and expanded it. :) And for all you other chocolate addicts out there, what is you favorite type/brand? I love dark chocolate, especially Ghirardelli's chocloate chips, and Chocolove's bars. Yum!

Chocolate. Yum.

I used to love Godiva, but it's expensive, so for years I've been just settling down with Hersheys - the good old Hersheys. But daddy brought home from work a month ago some Godiva's and I've realized that it's just another name brand.

I love the milk chocolate bars, but the dark chocolate with almonds are good too. But what is sometimes even better are Hershey kisses with almonds. You must try some.

I also really enjoy Lidnt truffles. (I am not sure if it's spelled correctly.) -- Megan

There are Hershey kisses with almonds? Those sound so good! I'll have to find some. :)

And speaking of truffles, have you ever tried the Whole Food's ones? At my house, we stock up on them during the holidays. They are so good!

Hershey kisses with almonds are the BEST. You put the kiss in your mouth and swallow/savor just enough chocolate and then get a little delicious crunch of the almond. I'll stop there, since I am getting hungry for one, and we don't often have junk food nor candy around my house, so...

No, I have never tried or heard of Whole Food. :) -- Megan

Sounds delicous :)

No Whole Foods grocery stores? Maybe they're regional...anyway, if you ever see one during the holidays, run in and buy a box of their store-brand truffles. I promise they're worth your while. ;)

This is a wonderful description of chocolate.
As for what I like, as long as it's dark I'll probably like it. I'm not a big fan of milk chocolate, and won't eat it if it's just plain milk chocolate.

*snaps back into reality*

LOVE chocolate....but unfortunately I am one of those unfortunate people who have decided to go on a fitness/diet thing. My tastebuds are suffering terribly. :(

Oh dear, back to the subject: I like the way you have "expanded about something your sister said about the memory of chocolate".

Yeah. *goes back to dreaming about chocolate*.....*and slaps herself for making that annoying diet decision* *then tells herself "Nah, it's good, so shut up."*

Goodbye? Oh no, please. Can’t we just go back to page one and start all over again?” – Winnie The Pooh

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people who thinks they should go on a diet, but doesn't actually do it. Good for you! But tell your taste buds to look up one of those studies saying how healthy chocolate is, and just don't read the caveat. ;)

I'm glad you like the poem, though. :)

Alright, when I saw the word "chocolate" I knew I couldn't help myself. Short, sweet and wonderful. Nice poem! A good, rounded feeling to it. And this here girl loves Cadbury and Lindt truffles.... scrumptious. T^T Why must I be on a budget?

Why did you write this?! Now I'm going to run through the house, pulling out things from drawers until I have my chocolate fix... which sadly I have not had today.
I really am an addict along with you! Love it! Love it! Love it!
Ghirardelli's is good... I guess I don't really care about the brand to be honest. If it's dark chocolate... maybe with mint or raspberry flavoring in it... Aho!!! Now I have to wipe the drool off my keyboard. LOL!

This poem was great though... I haven't had chocolate since yesterday... and I actually have the memory of chocolate in my mouth as you explained it! That is true poetry!
LOL!
Fab job! Thanks for inspiring me to eat chocolate. (Agreed chocolate chips are the best, it's like "Who needs the cookie when you have the chips?")
