a long day

Submitted by little woman on Thu, 11/08/2012 - 02:37

silent stillness
joyful calls
tearful laments
evening falls

daybreak comes
shrill beep
busy hum
vehicles creep

sun is high
children's sighs
wrappers rustle
time tells lies

day begins to end
noise gently subsides
homeward the weary masses go
peace again abides

evening gives a much needed rest
time again will stand the test

silent stillness
evening falls

Well, Hello! I'm Maddi. It must have been a while since you've posted on AP. :) I like this poem. Describes the day very well.

I read your profile, and I have to say I we have a bit in common. I have 2 sisters and one bro. I am the eldest. And I love the Betsy books!! Once she hits highschool though. I've only read the first 2, but I still felt I knew her inside out. :) Anyways, this comment is getting kinda long, so I better stop. God bless,
Maddi <3

Yeah, its been a while, unfortunately. I'm glad you like it :)

So I went to see your profile, and I thought "This looks familar, oh yeah, I just read it..."

Have you read the Millie Landreth series? They were written by the same lady as the Elsie Dinsmore books.

Thanks so much for commenting!

Welcome!! *little extra ding on the word*

I don't think so. I've got the first abridged Millie Keith series, and love them too, but other than that, no. :) Sure they're great though.
