4. (Inspired by a friend called Renee's definition)

A lot of things a poem can be
Sometimes they make no sense
A lot of things a poem can be
Sometimes a jumble of words
A lot of things a poem can be
Usually a meaning is there
A lot of things a poem can be
I prefer the ones with a pupose
A lot of things a poem can be
Often meant to evoke emotion
A lot of things a poem can be
Many times there’s rhythm and rhyme
A lot of things a poem can be
Often they a likened to a song

As you write down the words
Is a poem that’s real
Nothing else counts

A poem depends on the poem
It’s often a story or thought
Its been put into form to be read
Rhyming is required not

There’s a flow
Smoothly through your mind

Amazing, Keri!!! I'm trying to work on my inner poet, because I really do love reading poetry.
