Must I struggle with my pride,
My foolishness and sin?
Why do I, with angry stride
Attempt to banish Him?
Grief reigns deep within my heart,
For I have grieved my Lord –
Succumbing to the devil’s dart
And using not my sword.
I have sinned – wilt Thou forgive
Though I am weak and poor?
I cannot see how I can live
Without Thy love forevermore.
“Precious child, let go thy load.
Have faith in Me and rest.
Need thou leave my safe abode
Whilst thou art so oppressed?
Be still and wait for Me,
Draw nearer to My side.
For I will always shelter thee,
And thou shalt in Me bide."

I do very much like this peom.
I especially like the message.
"My greatest wish for my writing is that it would point you to the Savior."
Great poem!
Isn't it wonderful that we aren't left to our sins forever?
I have hated the words and I have loved them, and I hope I have made them right. --The Book Thief
