This is another song I wrote a little over a year ago. It ties together a lot of different ideas - things like Jesus being "The Way" and "The Truth" and "The Life" - as well as "The Word". It's a very pro-life song - describing the reality of God becoming flesh - but even a year later I haven't come up with the perfect title yet. :)
The Creator - incarnated -
Within the womb of the creation -
God becomes man within a woman.
The Word became flesh
In the Ark of the New Covenant
As God's words in stone were carried
In the Ark of the Old...
At her great, "Yes" to God's request
She becomes pregnant with The Truth -
Her body is used to form the flesh of God.
The tiny life that floats within her
Will shed His blood and die for all
And we'll know the reality,
The Reality of Love...
Jesus, Child of Mercy
Jesus, Child of Truth
Jesus, Beautiful Life-Bringer,
You Who called Yourself "The Way"
Came to us through a womb.
Destined to be crowned with stars
She bears the One Who birthed them -
He Who flung the galaxies
Sleeps at peace in her.
Queen Mother of the King of Heaven
Will lay Him in a manger
And marvel at the greatness,
The greatness of our God...
Jesus, Man of Mercy
Jesus, Man of Truth
Jesus, Beautiful Life-Bringer,
You Who called Yourself "The Way"
Came to us through a womb.
Through her trust and obedience
She showed us how to love -
Now we can breathe with new Life.
Within each of us He comes to dwell
To live His Life and Love.
And so we are disciples
As we follow her example...
Mary, Mother of Mercy
Mary, Mother of Truth
Mary, Beautiful Life-Bringer
He Who called Himself "The Way"
Came to us through your womb.
Jesus, You are Mercy,
Jesus, You are Truth,
Jesus, Beautiful Life-Bringer
You Who called Yourself "The Way"
Came to us through her womb.
You Who are The Way
Come live within us too.
