“I don’t like the feel of these woods,” Darcy said offhandedly.

She said it more to cut the tension than anything, because they were walking along, single file and silent, between foreboding trees laced with dark moss that made what light could struggle through very dim. Darien rolled his eyes at her, because they had walked far worse paths before without flinching, but Miaela gave her a grateful look for saying what they were all thinking.

“It’s not far now,” Morgan told them defensively.

Once upon a time, fairies roamed the land side by side with humans, the only obvious difference the flecks of changing color in their eyes.

That was a very long time ago now.

Once upon a more recent time, there was a brother and sister. Their names were Darien and Darcy, and they traveled the land, having adventures and rescuing people and generally having a good time. Generally.

They wore contacts that made their eyes dark blue.

Where Dreams Come True

In my hands I hold the world
A pot of gold I seek to find
My pathway: beams of sunlight, pearled
The rainbow’s end in light enshrined.

The night around me closes fast
Blue skies now deepen into black
I look up to the heavens, vast
For fear of unforeseen attack.

Look! Yonder, there a shadow road
To where it leads, I cannot say.
Dark silhouettes of creatures goad
A swifter flight by moonlit ray.

OOC go check out the song "Written Emotions" by MitiS before you read on. Previous Chapter Nick could hardly contain his mirth. Not that he was trying very hard. He clearly enjoyed the look on the two separatists faces. (let it be noted, Reader, that Milla is a separatist too but doesn't know what's going on) Adren was yelling at Nick, "What are you doing here! Why are you spying on us? Why did you put that note in the book! How did you know I'd find it? You didn't even get my name right!

The Jackalope Wish

Keely pounced. Her hands closed on squirming, wiggling fur.
"Got you!" she yelled.
"Ugh, ugh, let me go," said the jackalope.
"Not until you grant me a wish. You can do that, right?"
"No!"
"You can so! I know because George used one of you to find the best place to dig the new well for the kitchen garden."
"Oh, very well," groaned the jackalope. "What is it, then?"
