"I awoke only to find that the rest of the world is still asleep."
-Leonardo da Vinci

Can you see the colors?
They’re shining through the window,
accompanying the silver starlight.

It’s one of the greatest wonders!
Do they really not show?
But I can see them all right.

Come dance in the wind
with pale green and turquoise
flowing through its eddies.

It’s practically a sin
to ignore the murmuring voice
You don’t hear it? You must be pretending!

Short Story

Submitted by Elizabeth Anne on Sat, 02/04/2012 - 14:27

Hi all! I am sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I have been having some trouble with internet explorer that has made it really hard to post anything. Since I haven't posted anything in a while, I decided to just post a short story instead of another chapter in one of my other stories. I hope you like it. The main idea that I want to get across is that Jesus is Lord of all and can use anything to draw his children closer to him. Please let me know if I got that message across. Was the thing with the light and the darkness confusing, or did it enhance the meaning?

Sea Eyes, Chapter 4, by Xotirra

It’s Grant’s turn, but he’s sleeping. Thank goodness he’s silent. He was beginning to drive me mad.

The walk to the pond was green, like the rest of our island. Normally I would have expected to see birds, but there were no traces of them, save a brightly colored feather peeking out here and there, from inside a hole of tree, from behind a clump of rocks, wherever they thought they could find shelter from the approaching storm.

Thunderstorm

Raw energy,
of an awesome kind,
Pervades the air,
and tickles your mind.

Dancing over the sky,
are greenish hues,
Except for tonight,
It should be blue.

A flicker of lighting,
on the edge of the horizon.
The thick air stirs,
Clouds cover the sun.

A hot breeze,
flows from the west;
A grumble, a thunder,
beginning unrest.

Animals squeal,
and together they huddle.
A storm they sense,
they know there’ll be trouble.

The Amazing World of Colors!

Have you ever wondered about the world’s colors? Why the sky is that baby blue shield. Why the grass that ripples in the breeze holds that dark, fresh green? The sun brilliantly shines its yellowness down to earth. What if it was all different?! What if the sky was a bright green! And the grass and trees all blue. The sun would shine its splendid purple onto the earth. Close your eyes and try to picture this. Go ahead! It would be fun to color a coloring book like this! The tree’s bark a pure white! The water sparkles with a bold orange! But when you open your eye’s.

SPRING!

Spring! What a wonderful time of year it is! When all the animals give a loud shout for the long, cold winter days are over. When the butterflies go around happily from the newly sprung flowers. Color just seems to burst everywhere all of the sudden, so bright and cheerful, it is amazing if one can live through another gray, dull winter.

Kaleidoscope

Colors exploding rapidly;
patterns ever swirling.

Repeating the same one never;
sparkling stars sprinkled across black leather.

Imagination going wild;
colors dancing like a child.

Rippling like a brook;
an illustration from a book.

Splashes brash and bold,
glittery and cold.

Gently, swiftly swirling;
rapidly, wildly twirling.

Vivid and bright;
meteors in the night.

Every shade represented;
in this art gallery presented.
