Merry Christmas

Excitement fills
Each heart until
The day of Christmas arrives.
The hope of seeing
Family
This thought our hearts now drives:
Prepare for that day
Be merry and gay
Despite the grey outside.
Cook and bake
And frost the cake
Each present make with pride.
But always remember
This month of December
Is not about family members
It’s not about gifts
Or buying from thrifts
With money saved up since November.
We often forget
And have this mindset,

I see trees coming down
I smell the confusion in all
I hear I am in trouble for just being
I taste the food placed before my meaning
I feel betrayed by the few who believe in me
I weep for those who don't care, or care too much
I pray I will not be forgotten
I have walked many miles through the many years
I am no longer looked at as the Savior's birth but by few

I love Christmas time! Where on Christmas eve you ride to Grammy’s house in a Christmas dress or sweater and when you get there you see all of your family sitting on couches, and you cousins laying on the floor or running around playing and screaming and their parents tell them to be quiet!
