Noel~Peace on Earth

Peace on Earth

Hakizimana took a deep breath and tugged on the bell rope. The swinging great bronze bell nearly pulled him off the ground. Bong…bong…He released the rope, letting the tolling bell slow to a gentle whisper. As he stared at the floor, he drifted back into memories. Screams and the clash of machetes echoed in Hakizimana’s mind.

“Peace?” he buried his head in his hands. “No, Lord, I do not have peace. How can I when the floor is stained with the blood of my brothers in you?”

Sound and Silence

"If you can sit in silence with a person for half an hour and yet be entirely comfortable, you and that person can be friends. If you cannot, friends you'll never be and you need not waste time in trying." The Blue Castle

The above is a quote from one of my favorite books. It's a beautiful story...and I believe that quote to say something quite interesting.

Recently Rediscovered

Today I was looking through my diary, getting all sentimental and nostalgic. I found some old poems that I wrote and thought, "Why not put 'em up on AP....just for kicks". And here they are.

This one I wrote when I was six or seven; my first poem ever!

Spring, spring!
It's almost here!
Beautiful flowers are coming near
A rose here, a tulip there
Green grass everywhere!
Spring's coming!

This one, oh....I'd say I was about 9 when I did this one.

It's That Time

Submitted by Bernadette on Sun, 12/14/2008 - 18:44

It’s that time again
When the lights are shining
Tinsel wrapped around the Christmas Tree

He’s right here among us
But we pass him by
For the gifts around the tree

The Feast goes on
And the babe is forgotten
Wrapped in his swaddling clothes

We don’t realize
He is given for us

It’s that time again
And we are still blind

Baby Jesus

Twinkling
Sparkling
Jingling
Ringing
Singing
Christmas joy

Christ is here
Born to cast out all fear
The reason for our joy
Jesus, the little baby boy

Songs are sung
The bells are rung
Smiles are bright
The stars, alight

Dancing
Weaving
Bouncing
Smiling
Laughing
Christmas happiness

The joy that the Infant Jesus
Has given us this Christmas
Fills our hearts with praise
For the small, holy, baby

To Mary... With Love, God.

My Dear Mary,
Do not be afraid. I have a special message for you, my child. These things may sound strange, but be comforted - I am in control and have good plans for your future.
I know you are "only" a fourteen-year-old girl living in the small town of Nazareth. Yet you will fulfill the words of the prophet Isaiah,
"Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
And they shall call his name Immanuel."

Where's the spirit?

Christmas feels different than it did before
I feel as if I'm standing before locked door
Things seem to be changing
I wish that they would stop
I feel as if more change would make my skull pop
I don't know what is wrong with me
I wish that I could find the key
To the door I cannot open
The door that I find locked
At every turn of the knob my head remains cocked
In confusion at the answers I can't seem to find
The locked portion of my very stubborned mind
Holds my Christmas Spirit
I wish I had the key
