Heartfelt Song

Submitted by Damaris Ann on Wed, 03/06/2019 - 21:19

In the morning I hear a song
It plays so faintly, in my head
It starts while I am yet dreaming
Stretched upon my morning bed
But as the day goes by it grows
And I begin to hum along
For though it is a catchy tune
My heart remembers not the song
But quickly in the afternoon
I pick out the words, here and there
Til dinner comes with fork and spoon
And I am singing, unaware
So by the time I’m off for bed
I’m belting out a wordy song
An anthem of blessed thankfulness
As heartfelt as the day is long

I’ve Had the Longest Day

Crying in the shower at the end
Of the day
Over old heartbreak
Or perhaps
Current pain
But when the water calms
And my tears are washed away
I slip into my bed
Like my fears slipped down the drain
But not every fear or burden
Feels like it’s gone away
For I am only human
And I’ve had the longest day
So I beg for mercy
And pray for thankfulness
Hoping that each part of me
Will be fully cleansed
So bless the Lord, oh
My soul
And forget not His
What?
His benefits

The Things That I'm Thankful For

Submitted by Grace J. on Mon, 11/19/2018 - 06:24

For all of my family,
My dog and my friends,
For cards and letters
To me and to send,

For great joy and great peace,
For defying a fear,
For nights filled with laughter,
Kind family for my tears,

For hope in something solid,
For God’s grace and mercy,
For his abundant love
That he’s shown towards me,

For all of these blessings
And so many more—
These are the things
That I’m thankful for.

Thanksgiving

Cinnamon,
Cardamom,
Allspice,
And Cloves
The smells are divine
As everyone knows
Fall is upon us,
This season is here
To share in the joy
With family near
Remember the good times
The things that you have
Be thankful for treasures
Your mom and your dad
What time here is left us
We must make the best
Live days to the fullest
Live happy and blest

Thank You

I am amazed
that before I could love you,
you loved me,
that you purchased me,
a slave,
and rescued me from my master of sin,
and washed me whiter than snow,
put a ring on my finger,
a robe on my shoulders,
and called me
your Son,
heir to all the riches
of your kingdom.

I am so thankful
that my hatred of you,
was not enough
to hold back your love of me,
and though I murdered you,
that still you considered me
worth dying for, worth trading

The Boy With The Basket

Submitted by Gregory on Mon, 07/02/2007 - 23:24

Once upon a time there lived a boy named Michael Grant, who was the youngest of three children. He was ten years old, and his two oldest sisters were sixteen, and twelve; their names were Philomena and Edith. He had a mother and father, whose names were Marie and Luke Grant. Michael also had a Saint Bernard dog, who was two and a half years old. The Grant family lived in a cabin, with a farm, surrounded by woods and lakes and a clear sky.
