The Lovely Blue )-1-( Slate: In the Service of a Tyrant)

-1-

What is Agnes Allotte but a common person with, granted, a strange name? Someone who gets her way, no doubt. Because why else would we all be here, all of us who have respectable occupations and interests that normal people have?

No. I am not normal. The moment I was dragged into her group of eccentrics, I became a class-A freak. Why me?

I'm not wierd. I'm of normal height, weight and not too ugly. Plain is what I am. Sensible, honest, plain-old Ian. And I like that. Whatever seems to be the matter with being boring? Why is it so unforgivable here?

SLAM.

GPS-chapter two

Chapter Two

I stumble out of the car and practically run to the undergrowth by the sheer rock face of the mountain. There was no way I could hold it anymore. I think my pee has frozen in my bladder for awhile. I shiver and try to keep my jeans from getting wet in the snow. It was hard to crouch down, it was awkward and I feel cold and wet. Finally I start to pee. But as soon as the urine hits the ground, a familiar red, rusting, truck appears on the top of the hill and starts to drive down to where we were.

Let's make things more complicated

The following is adapted from a series of discussions and thought experiments between myself and LKR.

Thought Experiment 1
Locate:
What if an alien took everyone from earth except you and one other person? You don't know who they are or where, but you are charged with finding them. If you succeed, everyone will be restored.
How would you go about survival and eventually locating and reaching the other person?

Thought Experiment 2
Friends:
What if everyone disappeared except you and your friends? Who would be left?

The Thumb Drive

Submitted by Aalen Fideli on Fri, 08/31/2012 - 18:43

The following is a true story. I am writing this mere minutes after it happened. I am a musician. I do most, if not all of my work on a computer. I keep a lot of information and samples and other important things on a thumb drive. The thumb drive is an HP, model FD USB drive. I've customized it by gluing a broken Shift key to the front. Yesterday I went to the visitation for my great-grandmother's funeral. I had the thumb drive in my pocket then.

This is a story I wrote on the spur of the moment while chatting with some friends. It's supposed to sound like a little kid is telling the story. (did I ever mention that one of my nicknames is 'Handsome Toddler'? ;) )
I hope you enjoy this.. and I'm pleased to say that I do have another story in the works, which I hope to share with you soon.

The Discontent Brick

Submitted by Sabrina the Awesome on Mon, 04/30/2012 - 14:16

Once upon a time there was a brick. This brick wasn't like other bricks, this brick was special. He was the eighty-first brick on a long road that everybody traveled on. He'd been stepped on by so many people he couldn't even count. This brick felt important. He made it easy for other people to travel. Horses and carts relied on him to get them where they were going. One day however, this brick was tired of just being walked on. He looked at another brick across the street, the brick he was looking at was fourth brick on the third row of a building.

Chapter Four

1. And, lo, she came upon the house, and did all that she could to make herself a stranger unto Snow White

3. And Martha spake according to this manner to her, My dearest, I am giving an apple of gold. I thought thou mayest want it.

4. And Snow White was surprised, and said, Thou desirest in thine heart to give it to me? Nay, but go give it unto the royals.
