Upside-down

Seeing the world
upside-down
reveling in
the change
where once was
flat
and lifeless and brown
something new
is became
skies of blue
or grey or white
clouds or snow or ice
a whole existance
turned around
by seeing the world
upside-down.

Blind Love

Submitted by little woman on Sun, 01/27/2013 - 23:30

all too often
love is blind
so the proverb goes

blind to faults,
to lies, to cheats
or else
wishes not to know

yet also is love blind
to things in the world
surrounding
the world is still
and the lovers alone
they the only ones standing

love makes fools
of all alike
love is blind
they say

but do they not
also proclaim
that there is no
bliss such as ignorance?

I first heard him hum it when we were on one of our many walks together. The evening was balmy. My neck was moist beneath my collar. And even though I’d had more than my fill of sun those past few summer days--somehow, that made it okay.

I joined in with him the second time around, and he noticed.

EXT. ENCAMPMENT - HILL - DAY

The team crouches behind some rocks.
Tuor peeks over one of the boulders.
He exchanges a glance with Aerandir.
They all look at each other, and move towards the camp.

The team makes their way into a main tent.
Tuor, Lessien and Valandil stop by the tent opening and watch while Aerandir opens a small, wooden chest.
He pulls a stuffed animal and a carved statuette out of the chest.
The team looks hopefully at Aerandir.

Think this one’ll work?

A year from today; today, the 21st of January; I found this amazing website, ApricotPie. I cannot believe a year has gone by so quickly, but it has. A year ago from today I would not have even imagined that I would be allowed to be a part of this encouraging community of home-schooled writers...but because of my parents' permission, I am! I am so incredibly blessed. God Bless You all!

*For Arthur and Mrs. Miller for advising me to read this book and for many others in hopes that they will read this book. 

cage'd beast

The eternal fighting
Of the cage'd beast
Sometimes gentle, sometimes fierce.
With the power
To coax or kill
Play or fight;
Yet unable to free itself,
The basic act of survival.
The captors of the salty foam
Have yet to bend it to their will,
Yet will and will remains,
Ever greater still.

Greyscale World

I wonder
what life would be like,
if things were black and white.
The path to choose would always be clear -
whether to go or whether to stay
turn left, turn right
don't go there; it has no light.
The right thing to say would always be near,
if this life was black and white.
Grey issues no more
would creep through the door;
Confusion no longer trouble my sleep.
My days would be peaceful,
free of remorse
my nights content and untroubled.
Yet perhaps we are meant
to live and to learn
