This isn't at all like my last poem. Though I like it just as much.
He stands at the end of the sick bed.
He's there where they cry and they weep.
His presence is there with the dead,
For the souls of the dead doth he reap.
Who is this creature of sorrow,
This creature of darkness and death?
He brings no joyful tomorrow;
Joy is blown away by his breath.
His dwelling is wherever hate is.
His road is the trail of war.
For bread, the souls of men are His,
His drink is blood, no more.
It is he whose hand steals life,
From a true and beating heart.
It is his cruelty that grinds the knife,
To cut a life apart.
His hands are black and broken.
His Face is cold and drawn.
From his tongue not a word is spoken,
For his tongue is undoubtedly gone.
Beware, or at night He will steal you away.
His patience is horribly strong.
For Him there is always another day,
There's always another dawn.
Gruesome, I know, but I'm rather fond of it. Try not to have nightmares if you can.

Wow, Brit!
That's incredibly dark and spooky and morbid, but it puts me in mind of the sorcerer from my newest book, "NightSword".
