Death is almost certain
for that which does not thrive.
And so we must be careful,
to keep our minds alive.
Rescue those who do not grow,
that fall behind and fail.
Bring them up and help them stand,
and over life prevail.
Do not neglect mind or thought.
Study every minute.
If it's only for a thought to think,
there is a profit in it.
Today we suffer from ignorance,
the things we learned forgot.
Why are these things no longer,
and to the children taught?
Let not our children falter.
Encourage them to grow.
How far that this may take us,
we can never know.

Thanks
Thanks. I read your bio, and I want you to know that you are a great Jack Sparrow person.
=D
I love Britain too!!! And Canada (looooong story...) so anyway, you have an awesome name (high five, sista!) and welcome to Apricotpie!
PS the rhythm of this poem reminds me of some of Lewis Carroll's poems... except it makes more sense than his. But I still LOVE Lewis Carrol's Alice books and all the nonsensical poems within.
