To Gaze at the World in Reverse

A crystal clear glass,
my reflection is vast
to gaze at the world in reverse.
Collecting everyone's stares
and the blue of the air,
weaving earthy tones throughout every verse.

If vast I could be
like the encompassing sea
how fast I could swallow you whole.
Turning left and then right,
gazing up at the night,
like the black-blue depths of your soul.

With speed as the bow shoots the arrow,
striking cold in the depths of my marrow,
glass shatters like leaves on the ground.
Would you ever have thought
that the world could be caught
in shards and that shattering sound?

I liked this! The rhythm, the vast, unconfined perspective... very nice. It made me think, and I like poetry that does that.

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

This poem is so beautiful! I absolutely love poetry with such descriptive metaphoric imagery! I like the middle stanza best; the flow is just perfect! Thanks for sharing such a beautiful, deep, and thought-provoking poem with us! Keep up the wonderful work!

I didn't understand what they all meant, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  And I appreciated the rhymes -- I like poems that are structured with rhythm and rhyme.

Wow, really fantastic :) I love it when you post things!

Thank you, that's very kind of you to say! Thanks to everyone for that matter, I always appreciate the feedback. I don't think I'd bother posting if there weren't so many nice, genuine people here.

And to Wings of Eternity, I like the middle stanza best as well :)

The rhyme, the rhythm, the imagery, the flow... I may have to memorize this.
