Smiling because I can

No, there’s nothing that you said;
No, I’m not insane.
I’m smiling ‘cause I feel like it
The “why” doesn’t have to be plain.

No, nothing special happened
No, I’m not demented.
No, I’m not satisfied
No, I’m not contented.
  Yes, I’m smiling for no reason
As far as I can see.
I’m smiling ‘cause I feel like it.
I like that you like me.
No, there’s nothing on my mind;
Yes, I’m having fun.
No reason, of course, but can’t you tell?
With me there never is one.
Yes, I’m going to enjoy today
Although I have no exact plan
I’m smiling ‘cause I feel like it
I’m smiling 'cause I can.

This is a really nice poem after a serious blow, like AP closing. I liked the line

No reason, of course, but can’t you tell?
With me there never is one.

Very good! keep it up!

Thanks, you guys!  Glad both of you liked it.
Kassady, I was actually thinking a bit about AP (in an ironic way) as I wrote this.  :-)
