Tales of the Unsupervised

The title Tales of the Unsupervised refers to the wild childhood adventures of my dad and his two brothers, some of which I will tell here.

                                                 Victory at Sea

One day, Dad and his next oldest brother were at home-alone. They were playing with ships in the bathtub, and they got bored. So they decided to add some excitement to their playing. They poured gasoline over their ships, added a match, and blew up their ships! They emptied the fire extinguisher trying to put out the fire!

The bathroom was a wreck, and they didn't want to get in trouble, so they cleaned it up and made it sparkling clean. Then, their older brother came home.

He wondered what was going on. They told him everything, and he agreed to pick up a full fire extinguisher if they gave him the money to do so, and cleaned up the house. They did so, and their older brother carried out his part of the deal.

Their parents came home, and seeing the clean house, asked:

   "What happened?"

  My dad and uncle said:

"We got bored, so we cleaned up the house."

Later, when he was all grown, Dad went and told them everything.

His dad said, "I'm so glad my boys are okay."

His mom, who was in a wheelchair at the time, threatened, "I'm gonna kill you!"

                                           The Cat Story

One day, my dad and his brothers got bored, so they decided to play with the family cat, and see if the theory that cats always landed on their feet was true.

Two boys would stand under a second story window, and the other would drop the cat out the window to them, and whoever caught it would run up to the second story window, and the one who was already up there would run down, and join the other, and the process would go on.

Of, course, their mom heard them running up and down the stairs, and asked, "What are you doing?"

As boys go, they said, "Nothing," and kept playing with the cat.

Naturally, their mom soon found out what was going on.

And people wonder why God said "it is not good for man to be alone"!

LOL - this sounds like my brothers. They're forever 'getting bored' and trying some horrendous experiment that defies the human instinct of self-preservation.  I really enjoyed this, Eirian.  Wouldn't mind seeing a more along this line, either! ; )

Brother: Your character should drive a motorcycle.
Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!

Thanks. Mary. Would you mind referencing the quote at the beginning of your comment?

Thanks for the edits, Tahl...you must know these stories better than me.

I can see the two oldest brothers-who-are-younger-than-me doing that, and maybe my older brother, too, but not the two youngest brothers-who-are-younger-than-me. the names and ages are; Kyle, 14, Jack, 10, Joe, 6, Peter, 4, Isaac, 2 (and my 1 yr old sister Becca). Boys are weird all right. I guess their brains are wired diferently. But some boys are ok. Namely boys you like (and I know plenty).

Oh for the times when I felt invincible.

~actually, they filled the bathtub with gasoline -when it burst into flames, they drained the tub~

~the oldest brother wondered what was going on because the bathroom was sparkling clean~

~the dad said -"I could've lost my kids, my house!" ...~
