The wintry sky is clear and bright,
Filled with stars’ angelic light
And whispering o’er the frosted land,
A glacial breath―the winter’s hand
The laughing brook, the gurgling stream
Is wrapped in frigid, silent dream
The pastures, once so warm and lush
Now lie with frosty, lifeless hush.
The squirrels, the bears, in cave or nest,
Are bound in long, extended rest
While foxes dart from tree to tree,
Searching for some friendly lee
The flowers, once with faces gold,
Are now dormant for season’s cold
And all the tender, fragile shoots
Wither to their secret roots
The sky is clear and fresh and cold,
Revealing sights of heights untold
Clouds so sparse; their sight is rare
Drifting idly o’er ground so bare.
The snow comes floating down at last,
Blizzards rage with icy blast.
Children glory in winter’s snow
Which shines with dazzling, frosty glow
And slowly, as the seasons wanes
Springtime brings her joy again,
Wiping from the thawing land,
The glacial breath―the winter’s hand.

Yes, I agree..
It's a very good first addition to apricotpie. Very poetic and musical! :) :>
Likey!
Very good! I hope you post more stuff soon. I forgot to tell you, but you should take a look at Heather's page, too. And would you pleeeaase at least give us a sneak peek at your story? like maybe what will be on the back cover of the book? Or like a movie trailer! You know, I once tried to write a trailer, but it didn't quite work out the way it was supposed too. It works better when I play it in my head like a movie. How 'bout you?

Heeheeheee... yes, I'll put up a synopsis as soon as I can... I'm still working on writing one that's good enough. Bleh-- can't seem to write descriptions very well!! :P And maybe I'll put up a chapter or so. If you check out my website, though (emilyfaggion.com) there's a (somewhat outdated) description and a chapter excerpt...
And yeeeah... I always love to picture my stories as movies. ^_^
And how often do you check your email...? =)

wrote this several, several years ago... I was probably 13 or so. But I found it again and thought it a good first addition to ApricotPie. =)
