Today, Yesterday, and the far off Tomorrow

Submitted by The Brit on Thu, 09/03/2009 - 06:06

Today's a day to be remembered.
And Yesterday: forgot.
Tomorrow we have yet to see,
And see how fares our lot.

Today's the day that we march on,
Though Yesterday we warred,
Tomorrow we will sleep away,
Our pillow as our sword.

Today has never met Tomorrow,
Yet thinks of Yesterday,
Tomorrow knows the future well,
Yet knows what it won't say.

Today will live to see Tonight,
And Yesterday watch on,
As Tomorrow starts a bright new day,
Since Yesterday is gone.

Today is for a fresh, new start,
And Yesterday for sorrow.
But we shall never know what lies,
In that far off thing, Tomorrow.

I just now got around to reading this, Brit.  Beautiful!  Artistic and lovely, offering a hint of something profound...

Me: He can't. He's in the wilderness.
Brother: Then make it a four-wheel-drive motorcycle!
